We will not use your data for a new purpose unrelated to the above without your consent.

Direct marketing and newsletter

We intend to use your name, email address and (if you give it) phone number to send you direct marketing about:

  • residential properties for sale or rent in Hong Kong;
  • property market news, guides and insights;
  • our property-related services (such as leasing, sales and property management) and events.

We may not use your data for this unless you consent. We will ask for your consent separately, for example with an unticked box or a newsletter sign-up form.

Transfers outside Hong Kong

Some providers (including Cloudflare, Google, Meta, Mailchimp and our hosting provider) may store or process data outside Hong Kong, for example in the United States, Singapore or Europe. Data protection laws there may differ from Hong Kong’s. We choose established providers and take reasonable steps (such as contract terms and security settings) to protect your data.

Third-party services on our website

  • WhatsApp click-to-chat: Clicking a WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp, a Meta service. Your chat is handled under WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy. We keep chat content only as needed to serve you.
  • Google Maps: Map embeds are loaded from Google. Google may receive your IP address and set cookies.
  • Google Translate (language switcher): If you change the language, the page content is sent to Google for translation and a language cookie may be set.
  • Nearby places (OpenStreetMap): To show nearby schools, shops and transport, the website looks up the property’s location through OpenStreetMap-based services. Your browser may connect to those services, which can see your IP address. We do not send them your name or contact details.
  • Social media links (such as Facebook): These are links only. If you click them, the platform’s own privacy policy applies.

Analytics and advertising measurement

We use Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the website (for example pages visited and how long). We also use Google Ads conversion tracking to see whether our ads lead to enquiries. These tools use cookies and similar technology and collect device and usage information. We do not use them to identify you by name.

You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, adjust ad settings at Google My Ad Center, or block cookies in your browser.

Your rights: access and correction

Under the PDPO you may ask:

  • whether we hold your personal data, and for a copy of it (a data access request); and
  • for us to correct data that is wrong (a data correction request).

How: Write to our Data Protection Officer (contact details in Section 12). You may use the Privacy Commissioner’s Data Access Request Form (OPS003). We may ask you to prove your identity.

Timing: We will reply within 40 days of receiving your request, as the PDPO requires.

Fees: Correction is free. For a data access request we may charge a fee, which will not be excessive and will only cover our direct and necessary costs of complying. We will tell you the amount before we proceed.

You can also ask us to stop direct marketing at any time (Section 4), or to delete data we no longer need.

How long we keep it, and how we protect it

Retention. We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected for, then delete it or make it anonymous. As a guide:

  • Enquiries with no transaction: up to 24 months after our last contact.
  • Transaction and client records: for the period required by law and regulation (for example anti-money laundering records are kept for at least 5 years after the business relationship ends), and for as long as needed to handle any claim.
  • Unsuccessful job applications: up to 2 years, unless you agree to a longer period (in line with the PCPD Code of Practice on Human Resource Management).
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only a minimal record so that we do not contact you again.
  • Server, security and analytics logs: under our providers’ standard retention settings.

Security. We take reasonably practicable steps to protect personal data against unauthorised or accidental access, processing, erasure, loss or use. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), Cloudflare security protection, access limited to staff who need it, password-protected accounts and keeping software up to date. No online system is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that poses a real risk of harm, we will act promptly to contain it and, where appropriate, notify affected individuals and the Privacy Commissioner.

Children

Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without a parent’s or guardian’s consent. If you think a child has sent us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we will put a notice on the website.
